Sculptra® Treatment

How does Sculptra work?
Sculptra is reconstituted (mixed) with water before it is injected into the skin. Once it has been placed in the deep dermis, it promotes collagen production as the PLLA microparticles are absorbed. A series of treatments are needed for optimal results.
How many Sculptra sessions will I need?
The number of sessions and the number of vials of product needed vary from person to person, depending on how much collagen has been lost. On average, three to four injection appointments are needed over a period of a few months.
How long do Sculptra results last?
Results should begin to be noticeable 4 to 8 weeks after treatment, and can continue to improve over the following 6 months from the last session. Results should last at least 2 years or longer, though touch-up treatments are recommended once a year.
Where can Sculptra be used?
Sculptra is used to volumize the hollows of the cheeks and temples, soften the marionette lines and smile lines, and restore the definition of the jaw line. Other areas of treatment include the decolletage, the hands and other regions of the body that can benefit from collagen stimulation. These injections are used to add volume and to smooth out wrinkles.
Can Sculptra be used for butt-lift/augmentation?
A special application of Sculptra is the butt-lift/augmentation. PLLA can be injected in the buttocks to create volume, lift sagging skin and treat cellulite. This typically takes 4 sessions of injections with 6 to 8 vials per treatment. This is an alternative to a traditional Brazilian butt-lift for patients who are poor candidates for liposuction, searching for a natural enhancement, or want to avoid a surgical procedure.
